Clean and fast.

Overnight floor coatings for businesses that can’t shut down and can’t stand dust. Close tonight, open tomorrow, with no grinding dust settling on your stock, shelves or machines.

Five systems, all built on CleanPrime epoxy primer and finished with LabSurface topcoats. Ask for them at Concrete Pro Supply.

No dust film on everything

Traditional industrial coatings need a profile, and the profile comes from grinding or shot blasting. Dry grinding makes dust. Good contractors fight it with high-performance vacuums, air scrubbers and plastic sheeting, and those tools work: they make the film of dust on your shelves, stock and machines thinner. They don’t make it go away.

CleanPrime doesn’t need a profile, and it’s very water-tolerant. So the prep is wet: a buffer, a black pad and a squeegee. No dust cloud, no film to wipe off every shelf in the morning, and no mess that comes with the floor.

Easy to clean or hard to slip on. Pick your spot.

The easier a floor is to clean, the easier it is to slip on. Every floor is a trade-off, so make it on purpose:

  • Smooth. The easiest to clean and the quickest to put down.

  • Fine Grip. Some grip underfoot and still easy to clean. LabFender 240 with aluminum oxide.

  • Quartz. The most grip, and it stands up to impact.

  • Quartz Clear. Quartz grip in a custom color blend.

  • Metallic. Custom, functional art, and easy to clean. No two floors match, not even the sample.

Ask your installer to put your choice in writing. Then the trade-off is a decision, not a surprise.

The moisture-vapor loophole

Nearly every coating warranty excludes moisture vapor transmission. Think about what that leaves. An object at rest stays at rest: a well-bonded coating with nothing pushing on it has no reason to let go. Moisture vapor coming up through the slab is the push. A warranty that excludes it excludes the main way coated floors fail, which makes most of those warranties pretty dumb.

CleanPrime MVB is a moisture-vapor-barrier epoxy primer. Its whole job is to keep that push from reaching the coating on top.

About warranties: your installer warrants the installed floor. As the manufacturer, CleanPrime can’t extend that warranty. CleanPrime makes removing contaminants at the bond line far more efficient, but we can’t control whether it gets done on your job. Your installer can.

It smells like what it is

These are industrial coatings, built for performance first. LabSurface rates the topcoats on these samples as reduced-odor or low-odor, which isn’t the same as no odor, and CleanPrime is solvent-borne. Installers run air movers and air scrubbers overnight to clear the air. You’ll likely still notice it in the morning, so plan around anyone sensitive to it.

Chemical and wear resistance

From LabSurface’s technical data sheets:

  • LabFast 85 Pro polyaspartic (Smooth, Quartz, Quartz Clear, Metallic): “excellent chemical and mechanical resistance.” Abrasion: 25 mg loss (ASTM D4060, CS-17 wheel, 1,000 g, 1,000 cycles). Hardness: Shore D 70. Adhesion: over 3 MPa (ASTM D7234). Full UV protection, non-yellowing.

  • LabFender 240 aliphatic polyurethane (Fine Grip): “superior chemical resistance,” and up to 60 times more resistant than polyaspartics to plasticizer migration, the stuff that leaves hot-tire marks (LabSurface lab test at 176–194°F). Abrasion: 20 mg loss with aluminum oxide (ASTM D4060, 1,000 cycles). Pencil hardness: 4H. Adhesion: over 3 MPa (ASTM D4541).

What to expect

Floors coated on site will likely catch a tiny bit of debris in at least a couple of places. The sample you’re holding intentionally shows what’s likely to be the worst 2% of the floor. Expect a floor optimized for efficiency and performance rather than flawlessness.

CleanPrime doesn’t work below 60°F, so neither does overnight. If the building is colder than that, your installer reschedules.

We’ve used a lot of topcoats. LabSurface’s are as good as any of them, and the ones on these samples were a gift. Thanks, Eric.
